Designed to fulfil the same need as traditional removable dentures, implant-retained dentures are held in place via implants. These implants are made up of titanium screws – a biocompatible material – which serve as the new root for the tooth or teeth and the dentures that are securely held in place on top of them.

As with most implant treatments, receiving implant-retained dentures usually occurs over several months:

1. Come into the practice for a full consultation; we will go over your medical history and make sure you are a suitable candidate before designing a provisional treatment plan and referring you to a specialist for surgery.
2. The specialist will take CBCT scans and assess your bone quality before placing implants.
3. Once placed, we wait a few months for the implant and bone to fuse together.
4. Once this has been accomplished, you will return to the practice to have denture impressions commenced.
